Mills & Reeve needed a network that could keep pace with case data now measured in terabytes. Edge7 Networks delivered SD-WAN that raised bandwidth, improved reliability and security, and opened the way to cloud and SaaS applications.
Mills & Reeve is a UK law firm named UK Law Firm of the Year at the 2018 British Legal Awards, with 1,050 staff across six UK offices. It has appeared on The Sunday Times' list of the 100 Best Companies to Work For for 16 consecutive years.
Like the wider legal profession, the firm was contending with changing client expectations, new ways of working, and case data growing at pace. Its network needed to keep up on every front.
The volume of data behind a single matter had changed beyond recognition. As IT Infrastructure Manager Dave Bradshaw explained, "Just a few years ago, lawyers would have been dealing with a few Microsoft Word documents. Today, disclosure for a single case could be in the terabytes."
The firm needed a network that could support modern working practices and move far larger datasets, reliably and securely, across every office. At the same time, slow-network complaints were a recurring drag on the working day.
Edge7 Networks implemented SD-WAN to lift bandwidth and reliability across the firm's six offices, and to support its shift to cloud and SaaS applications. The design was built to deliver more capacity and stronger security at a lower cost than the network it replaced.
"The Edge7 team are dedicated, knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. Continually going the extra mile and striving for perfection, the SD-WAN project was delivered on time and started delivering results on day one."
