Your LAN is managed. But is it getting the attention it actually needs?
Whether your internal network is handled by your own IT team alongside everything else, or bundled into a broader contract with a provider who treats it as an afterthought, the result is often the same. Firmware drifts behind. Segmentation stays flat. Troubleshooting takes longer than it should because nobody has a complete picture.
Edge7 Networks brings dedicated LAN expertise so your internal network gets the focus it has been missing.
Somebody is looking after your LAN. But is it their actual focus?
Every application your users touch runs over your LAN. Voice, video, file shares, cloud apps, printers, building management, IoT. It all lands on the same internal network. And in most organisations, the LAN gets less attention than it should. not because nobody cares, but because the people responsible for it have too many other things competing for their time.
If your internal IT team manages the LAN, they are probably doing it alongside the WAN, security, end-user support, and a constant backlog of business requests. The LAN works well enough most of the time, so it sits lower on the priority list than it should. Firmware upgrades get deferred. Segmentation projects get pushed to next quarter. The topology documentation drifts further from reality with every change.
If your current MSP or network provider manages it, ask yourself how much proactive attention it actually receives. Is the LAN being actively monitored and optimised, or is it part of a broader contract where the switching infrastructure only gets looked at when something breaks? Most bundled arrangements default to reactive. the provider responds to faults but does not own the health of the network.
Either way, the risk is the same. It is not dramatic. It is slow. Performance gradually degrades. Security gaps widen without anyone noticing. VLAN sprawl accumulates. And every unplanned outage takes longer to resolve because the network has outgrown anyone's current understanding of it.
